My name is Meir and I became a therapist because I know it as a powerful modality of healing. I’ve experienced its transformative potential firsthand as a client and have been compelled to share this with others. There are many ways to respond to our suffering and therapy can be a kind, gentle, and skillful way.
Blessed with an abundance of suffering, I’ve been driven in my pursuit of truth and connection from a young age, avidly exploring mind and heart. I’ve spent much of my life immersed in the Buddhist and Jewish traditions, meditating and praying, including two years as an ordained Buddhist monk. At a certain point, I hit an impasse as spirituality wasn’t meeting my areas of growth as a human. Therapy was the key for me in reclaiming all of my emotions and needs. Within the interpersonal context of therapy, I found that I can integrate all parts of my humanness and bring them into relationship. This flowering led me to where I am today.
While I specialize in developmental trauma, I work with the spectrum of the human experience including anxiety, grief, and chronic-illness. I primarily use a somatic and relational approach. This means using the present moment, what is happening in the therapy room and your tangible bodily experience, as our basis for exploration. I also work closely with an existentialist approach, emphasizing the choice and free-will that we have as human beings. With a connection to ourselves and a sense of free-will, the possibilities of change emerge.
When we are ready for change and find a partner dedicated to exploring that with us, growth is inevitable. I truly feel honored to be a therapist and see it as a sacred task to join with people on their healing journey. If this speaks to you, please come in for a consultation.
I offer in-person and virtual therapy.
