The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change -C.R

About Me

I became a therapist because I experienced firsthand how therapy can be a safe and supportive place during difficult periods in life. When you feel stuck, hurt, or confused in your relationships or other areas of your life, therapy offers a steady relationship where you don't have to force anything. It allows you to slow down, not be alone, and find more clarity. I also know that it is not always easy to reach out and I respect your courage in taking this step.

I work with clients slowly and gently. This stems from my over 15 years of contemplative training and meditation, including two years as a Buddhist monk, alongside my clinical social work training. I bring that experience into the therapy room by encouraging an understanding of the connection between body and mind and developing the capacity to experience your emotions with space and mindfulness.

That includes strong emotions such as anger, fear, and conflict. All feelings are welcome and can be held in the therapy room. There isn’t a need to filter yourself. There isn’t a right way to be in therapy. What matters is what feels true for you.

Together, we meet what is happening for you. The thoughts, the feelings, and your bodily experience. The spirit of warm curiosity is central in what it is like to work with me.

I trained at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work and am a Licensed Master Social Worker. I am also an Internal Family Systems (IFS) trained therapist and receive ongoing supervision and advanced training.

While my focus is on developmental trauma, I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship issues. I primarily use a somatic and relational approach. This means we pay attention to what is unfolding for you in the present moment, on a bodily level and in the therapy room with me. We use that as our basis for exploration. I also use an existential approach, emphasizing the choice and agency that can be found, even in difficult situations.

When we are ready for change and find a supportive compassionate partner dedicated to exploring that with us, change and healing become more possible. I feel honored to be a therapist supporting people on their healing journey. If you are curious about working with me, I invite you to reach out for a free phone consultation.
